I don't know who all of you that read this blog are, but I
imagine there's a healthy mixture of those who are design-oriented and those with inclinations more of the programming
variety, as well as everything in between. Myself, I have an eye for aesthetics and the components of a good user
interface, but any Photoshop tasks beyond the most basic elude me. I am no graphic designer - never have been, never
will be.However, I can create beautiful and user-friendly designs without a Photoshop genius at my side, thanks to several handy web-based tools. Since we seem to be in the mood for lists (thanks for all the comments and discussion on the previous post!), here are some tools for generating color schemes, which reside in my bookmarks list.
- My favorite: The Wellstyed Color Scheme Generator 2.
- ColorSchemer has a straightforward point-and-click interface.
- The HTML Color Code Combination Chooser (alliteration, anyone?) has a cool slider-based interface.
- Just found this one a few days ago: upload an
image and create a
color palette based on it. Very cool!
- Finally, here's a tutorial on creating color palettes from Andy Clarke.
As usual, add your own.

1. Great list! Thank you.
I also use the ColorTool at http://www.ambientchill.com/ColorTool
I saved all yours to My Web 2, will make a handy collection.
